Saturday evening turned into a small excursion up to Kristiansten Festning.
No big plan, just a quiet walk through the old walls while the light was still soft over Trondheim. The fortress has a calm kind of presence in the evening: white plaster, rough stone, black doors, grass around the edges, and narrow arches that make even a short walk feel like a little discovery.
From up there, the city opens below with the cathedral spire, rooftops, trees, and hills behind it. The Norwegian flag moved in the wind, and the place had that simple weekend feeling where nothing much needs to happen for it to be worth remembering.
Sometimes a small trip close to home is enough to make a Saturday feel complete.
