This journal is for everything else.
The drive to a location before taking a photograph. A weekend spent chasing a problem on an old car. A hike that turned out better than expected. Progress in the gym that only becomes visible after months of consistency. Small projects, interesting places, and moments that are worth remembering.
Why keep a journal?
I’ve always enjoyed documenting things.
Sometimes that means writing down how a problem was solved. Other times it means capturing a photograph, documenting a repair, or simply making a note of something I learned along the way.
The details are easy to forget.
A photograph becomes more meaningful when you remember where it was taken. A road trip becomes more memorable when you remember the route. A repair becomes more valuable when you remember what finally fixed it.
Writing things down creates a timeline that would otherwise disappear.
What you’ll find here
This journal will probably include things like:
- Photography and photo edits
- Garage projects and vehicle maintenance
- Road trips and day trips
- Training and personal progress
- Hiking and outdoor activities
- Small projects and everyday discoveries
Some posts will be short. Others may be longer stories or collections of photos.
There is no schedule and no particular format.
The idea
Most of the things we spend time on never make it into a portfolio, a résumé, or a technical article.
Yet those are often the experiences we remember the most.
The interesting part is rarely the finished result. It is usually everything that happened along the way.
That’s what this journal is for.
